Let's Get This Paw-ty Started!

Hello and welcome!!

I've already started making birthday cards for next year. My mom, sister and hubby celebrate their birthdays on August, so I made them a fun and colorful card featuring a cute lion, which represents their Zodiac Sign: Leo.

I used watercolor paper to create my card base. Then, I used my Le Plume markers to watercolor the background and to color the lion, birthday hat and balloon. And as a final touch I glued googly eyes to the critter.

Here's my card...

Tremendous Triangles

Hello and welcome!!

For today's post I'm sharing a clean & simple holiday card, featuring geometrics shapes and non- traditional holiday colors.

I've used a stamp set from Whimsy Stamps called Tremendous Triangles, it has three different sizes of triangles and I've used the smallest ones to create my holiday trees. I stamped them using dye inks and then I used Distress inks for the splatters. The sentiment was stamped using gray ink.

I just love these colors and how this card turned out. Hope you like it too!

Here's my card...

Muse Challenge #196

Hello and welcome!!

Today I'm sharing a card I made to play at Muse Card Club Challenge #196.

This week's Muse is Tracey Mcneely. She has created a beautiful clean & simple card, featuring a pink watercolor butterfly and a large sentiment.

How was I inspired by Tracey's card?
  • The colors. I used watercolor paper and 3 shades of pink to create the gradient effect.
  • The insect (instead of a butterfly I used a ladybug).
  • Tracey embellished her butterfly with three Nuvo drops, so instead I used three sequins as embellishments.
  • The large beautiful sentiment
Here is my card...

I die cut extra wings from vellum and adhered them with small pieces of foam tape to give dimension to my ladybug.

This is Tracey's card:

Thank you so much  for stopping by!!

Raquel

Watercolor Flowers Card

Hello friends!! I want to share a card a I made while playing with my distress inks.
I created my own stamped background and gold embossed the sentiment on a piece of vellum. This is my very first time using vellum and I really like how it looks.
I'm entering this card in the CAS(E) this Sketch #168.

¡Hola amigos!

Here's a close up of the gold embossed sentiment...

Pop-Up Birthday Card

Hello!! I had too much fun making this birthday card and I really like how it turned out. Hope you like it too!

¡Hola!
How to make it?
1. Die-cut a white panel from watercolor cardstock (I used Stitched Rounded Rectangles dies from My Favorite Things); then splatter panel with distress inks.
2. Die-cut "Happy Birthday To You" using the Pop-up Birthday die from My Favorite Things.
3. Adhere a piece of cardstock to back of white panel covering the message opening.
4. Stamp two balloon strings using black ink. Die-cut balloons and adhere to panel using foam tape.( I used: MFT Birthday Wishes & Balloons stamp set and dies)
5. Form a 5½ x 4¼-inch card base from Kraft cardstock and attach white panel using foam tape.

¿Cómo hacerla?
2. Troquela la frase "Happy Birthday To You" usando el troquel "Pop-up Birthday" de My Favorite Things.

Celebrating Cardmaking Day! / Celebrando el Día del Cardmaking!

Hi everyone!! Today is World Cardmaking Day, so I wanted to celebrate making this simple but colorful card. Hope you like it!

For the background I used Distress Inks (picked raspberry, mustard seed, peacock feathers).I stamped the sentiment using Memento tuxedo black and then restamped it with Versamark and applied clear embossing powder. As a final touch I glued some enamel dots, which coordinate with the background colors.

Have a nice weekend! / ¡Feliz fin de semana!
 Raquel :)
