Tag You're It #53

Hello!! Today I'm sharing a tag I made inspired by Tag You're It #53. The inspiration for this challenge it's a beautiful double tag with an embossed dotted background and the focal image is an arrange of  flowers.

So, for my project...  I die cut two tags, one from white cardstock and another one from teal cardstock. I embossed the white tag using a dotted embossing folder.
After that, I stamped and die cut my flowers using a beautiful orchid stamp set and dies from Hero Arts. I stamped the orchid using two tones of teal. Then, I added some Wink of Stella to my flowers and leaves. Finally, I tie both tags with my favorite color of baker's twine.

Here's my tag...

Here's a close-up so you can see the dotted background and the sparkle in the flowers.

I was inspired by this beautiful tag:

Supplies used:
  • Cardstock: Neenah Solar White / MFT Tropical Teal

Summer Tag!

Hello there! Are you enjoying the summer?
Today I'm sharing a colorful summery tag. This tag makes me think of a delicious strawberry cocktail ;)

This is a double tag, so for the firs tag, I stamped the strawberries and colored them with Spectrum Noir markers. For the leaves I used: CG1, CG3, CG4; and for the strawberries: CR8, CR9, CR10.

The second tag was die cut from white cardstock and then colored it with a green marker (CG3), then stamped the dot background using red dye ink.

I was inspired by two challenges: Tag You're It #50, which is a red and green double tag featuring a sweet strawberry; and Spectrum Noir July Challenge: which theme is:Summer.

Here's my tag...

Happy Summer!!

Hello there! Today, I'm sharing a card I made to celebrate a summer birthday.
I love the beach!!! So for this card I wanted to create my own 'beach' with a delicious cocktail :)

I used distress inks and sponge daubers for my "mini beach" background. The yummy cocktail was colored with my Spectrum Noir markers.

It's my first time using burlap paper and I thought was a good idea to use this material to match  my beach theme card, so I used it to create the frame for the focal image.

Here's the card...

This card was inspired by the following challenges:

Colorful Kindness!!

Hello there!! I'm so excited to be back to my blog after traveling for a month. I visited San Francisco for a week and the I flew out to Costa Rica for vacation and for visiting my family.

During the last month I really missed making cards. So I couldn't wait to start playing with my stamps again, yay!!

Today, I made a colorful one layer card, inspired by YNS Sketch and Color Challenge #41. I used both the sketch and the colors.

I stamped the flowers with VersaMark Ink and white embossed them. Then I created my  own square "stencil" and blended distress inks using the colors suggested for the challenge.

Then stamped the Mini Flower Splatter using the same colors, and finally I stamped the sentiment using Versafine Onix Black.

The Sketch & Colors:

Supplies:
  • Cardstock: Neenah Solar White
  • Stamps: Plant Some Kindness, Mini Flower Splatter (Your Next Stamp)
  • Ink Pads: Peacock Feathers, Cracked Pistachio, Mowed Lawn, Shaded Lilac, Picked Raspberry (Distress Ink) / Leaf Green (Archival Ink) / Emerald Isle (Ranger Dye Ink) / Rose Bud, Lilac Posies (Memento) / Onix Black (Versafine)

Peacock Feathers

Hello there! I've seem some cards on Instagram using the "camouflage" technique, which I really like and wanted to give it a try.

First, I stamped two peacock feathers and then die cut that section using a small stitched rectangle die. To make it pop out, I die cut the same rectangle several times, glued them together into the opening and adhered the original die-cut piece on top.

Then, I die cut the peacock from white cardstock and heat embossed it using green embossing powder for the body. For the tail I wanted a teal, and since I don't have that color, I created my own by mixing green and blue embossing powder.

Finally, I stamped the sentiment using red and orange ink to add a bit of color and to complement the teal color.

My card was inspired by CAS(E) this Sketch #171, and  Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge this week the challenge is: Emboss it!

Here's my card...

Here is a better look of the tail and the color I managed to get by mixing green and blue embossing powder.
